Doug McCurry co-founded Achievement First with a goal most people thought was impossible. Twenty-one years later, AF schools serving students where 85% qualified for free lunch were ranked #1 in Connecticut and Rhode Island — and outperforming the wealthiest districts in New York. Riley Bauling built and refined the practices that made it happen, going from the highest-performing math teacher at AF to running a National Blue Ribbon School as a principal to a regional superintendent, leading schools across New York and Connecticut to gap-closing results. When they left, they brought everything they had learned and built over two decades and created Simply Great Schools — so every leader who's ready can have a playbook that actually works.
